Virat Kohli once again proved his class by scoring match winning 82 runs notout on 53 balls against Pakistan in high voltage match at MCG. It was opening match of both the teams in t20 world cup 2022.
In this match India won the toss and invite Pakistan to set the total for them. In early powerplay overs Pakistan struggling. In second over Arshdeep Singh got the wicket of King skipper Baber Azam. Baber Azam was given LBW on duck. The number one T20 player Muhammad Rizwan also struggled and also got out by Arshdeep Singh in his 2nd over of first spell. After early dismissal of both the openers, Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmad set a good partnership. Both got 50+ runs and helped Pakistan to set reasonable total of 159 for India to chase.
India’s start was not impressive also. Their openers also could not contribute much. Virat kohli and Hardik Pandia set match winning partnership for india. Hardik Pandia got out on 40 runs in last over of the match but Virat Kohli finishes the match by scoring 82 notout on 53 balls only. He was given Man of the Match award for his memorable innings against Pakistan.
